AQai was formed out of a deep commitment to seeing people thrive at work and a recognition that change is too often a disruptive hurdle in the pursuit of ongoing success. The ability to adapt to change is one of the most important skills for an individual, team, or organization to cultivate. In fact, Adaptability Intelligence is not just a single skill, but comes from the interplay of multiple skills, dispositions and environmental factors.
AQ Model® – A.C.E.
The AQai approach has been to empirically research the nature of Adaptability and then break it down into measurable component factors. Working in cooperation with IE Business School & Madrid University, AQai developed the AQ Model®. This framework, also known as the A.C.E. Model divides the aspects of Adaptability Intelligence into three main dimensions:
- Abilty – How and to what degree do I adapt?
- Character – Who adapts and why?
- Environment – When does someone adapt and to what degree?
These three dimensions of the A.C.E. model are further divided into five sub-dimensions each. Together these fifteen quantifiable measures comprise an individual’s AQ, or Adaptability Quotient. This is a comprehensive scorecard for understanding a person’s Adaptability Intelligence. The higher the AQ, the more an individual will demonstrate such abilities as quickly recovering from setbacks, facility for discovering alternative solutions to problems, and gracefully embracing change.
